Street Musicians
Living in New York City you see street musicians so often -- the guy playing Bach cello suites on the subway platform, the Andean panpipe ensemble in the 42nd Street station, the African kora player at the Port Authority -- that they all begin to melt into the background as you race from place to place. I ran into one ensemble recently that is unique in the street music scene and worth a little listen, The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. The New York Times did a video feature on them in September of 2006, check it out here.
